Back before we had direct to consumer advertising the drug companies ran ads for doctors, mainly on Lifetime Medical Television. This one for Mevacor (nowadays a $4 generic) was probably from LMT.In those days, as reflected in the ad, statins were only approved to treat hypercholesterolemia, not ACS or atherosclerosis.
